Four Home Remedies for Diabetes

As many sufferers of diabetes know, there are no cures for the disease. However, certain home remedies can be used in combination with regular exercise, a healthy diet, and proper blood glucose and insulin management. This article will tell you about two especially effective supplements you can add to your daily routine to help keep some of your symptoms under control, as well as two household items you can also use to help control some symptoms. Chromium

Some even say that this berry helps to reduce tingling sensations associated with diabetes. You can consume bilberry as a supplement, just eat the berries, or eat a prepared jam.

Olive Oil

Olive oil.Another simple home remedy for diabetes is that of olive oil. A few studies tell us that this oil may help to reduce blood sugar. You can use this oil as a cooking spray, salad dressing, or as a substitute in recipes whenever oils are called for. One good way to control your intake of extra calories when using olive oil is to buy and use a mister specifically for the oil. In this way, you can easily control how much of it you actually consume.

Salt

Though you may find this surprising, salt can also be used to help with the dry skin that many diabetics experience. To help with these symptoms, simply pour one cup of table salt or sea salt into a bath. This will help soften your skin, and help you to relax. You can also sprinkle salt onto your hands right after a bath or shower, while your skin is still damp, and rub it all over your skin to exfoliate and get your circulation moving. It is recommended you try to use salt to exfoliate first thing in the morning, to help wake you, or after a period of being physically active, as it will help to recharge and invigorate you.
