Low Carb Diets
Weight loss can be frustrating. It seems simple enough if you eat more calories than you burn, then you will gain weight. If you burn more than you eat you will lose weight. However, is it really this simple though? The answer, unfortunately, is not always. Each individual’s body is a little bit different. You always hear people telling you to exercise and eat healthy foods to lose weight, but how do you really implement this? Everyone who has ever tried to lose weight has attempted the calorie counting method. It is far too difficult to keep up with. A more applicable method of fat loss is a high protein low carb diet. This will help you metabolism be at an optimal rate by ensuring your blood sugar stays well regulated.
This is a pretty simple concept. The more that you eat sugary foods, the more your body will crave them. It is, quite literally, an addiction. Just like any other addiction out there, you have to take steps to detoxify your body and make a plan which you are willing to stick to doing. The idea is to eat food appropriately in order to optimize your blood sugar so that your metabolism is always ready to burn fat. This seems simple enough, right? The key to weight loss is a high protein low carb diet. Carbohydrates are macromolecules, which are long chains of complex sugars, and can be broken down into smaller simpler sugars. Your body stores the extra nutrients in fatty adipose cells. This is how your body puts on weight.
When you eat low carb foods like meat, beans, or vegetables, you are consuming sugars, but they are more complex sugars which make your body work harder to digest the nutrients. This means you will feel full longer, and you will promote healthy weight loss. When you eat foods which are high in fats and sugars you are consuming simple and easy to digest sugars. These sugars are easily and quickly broken down by the body, and your body does not work nearly as hard. You must understand that your body is greedy, and it treats each meal like it is the last time you are going to eat for a long time. So the more you eat fatty foods the more your body will store. This is the very reason starving yourself does and will not work. This actually slows down your metabolic rate. Your body breaks down food into energy for your cells to use to regulate all sorts of processes throughout your body. A high protein low carb diet will leave you feeling full for longer. Fortunately for those of us who love junk food, it is possible to eat sugary foods and lose weight. It is important to limit eating these foods to only one day out of the week. This will actually spike your metabolism; however it is important to make an extra effort to drink plenty of water on these days.
